Not quite. Think of us as a leadership laboratory where the "lab" happens to be the great outdoors and the "equipment" includes the Gospel and a good pair of hiking boots (or running shoes). We are a discipleship and leadership development program for young men in middle and high school. We use the Christian Service Brigade (CSB) model to build godly character through adventure, learning, and a healthy amount of activity.

Absolutely not. Whether you’re a seasoned trail-runner or someone whose idea of "roughing it" is a hotel without high-speed internet, there’s a place for you here. We teach the skills—everything from basic navigation to the kind of leadership that doesn’t require a megaphone. We’re more interested in your trajectory than your current ability to tie a perfect sheepshank.

We trade the GPS coordinates for the church fellowship hall most weeks. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:50 to 8:50 p.m. at the EP Church of Annapolis. While our weekly meetings are the "base camp" where we do the heavy lifting of discipleship and skill-building, we head out into the actual wilderness for trips about once a month.

We aim to keep Battalion more affordable than a tank of gas. We are committed to making sure every young man can participate. For specific trip costs, it's best to reach out to the leadership team directly.
